Alone In The Database

So, I'm using Carter's new laptop to help him begin reading.  I plan to develop some software for this, but for now I've just created a document in Wordpad and put some simple words in it, at the big 72pt font.

We scroll through the document together and he memorizes what the words are.

So, I do that again and again, until he gets them all right.  I know that the sequence helps him to memorize the list so it's not really READING.....

So, last night I created a new document and put some of the words together into a sentence.  And he read it!  And he did that trick many times in a row, showing off for everyone, with different sentences based on the words we had been memorizing.

THE DOOR ON THE HOUSE WAS RED.

He's only 5!  I'm so proud!
